The New Laptop Motherboard IC MAX8743ETX / MAX8743 is a dual high-efficiency step-down (buck) PWM controller IC from Maxim Integrated, now part of Analog Devices. It is designed specifically for notebook computer power-management applications and is used to generate low-voltage supplies for chipsets, RAM, CPU I/O and other laptop motherboard circuits.

The MAX8743ETX is the 36-pin Thin QFN version of the MAX8743, with a package size of approximately 6mm × 6mm. The MAX8743 supports an adjustable output range of 1V to 5.5V and a 2V to 28V input range.
